Work Health and Safety Policy

IA Group Pty Ltd is a leading commercial architecture, interior design, project services, workplace advisory and security & risk-management consultancy operating Australia wide since 1997. We consider the health, safety and welfare of all persons employed by the company, clients, subconsultants, and other interested parties by our operations to be of utmost importance.

Our people are our most valuable asset, and their health and safety are our greatest responsibility. Management and workers share the objective of maintaining a work environment free from harm.

IA is committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill-health. These commitments are appropriate to the organisation’s purpose, size and context, and to the specific nature of its occupational health & safety (OHS) / work health and safety (WHS) risks — particularly those associated with safety in design and end use, project work, site fit-outs, refurbishments and site coordination.

Our Work Health and Safety Management System provides a framework for setting objectives and supports continual improvement across all operations.

 We are committed to

  • Fulfilling all legal and other applicable requirements, including national and state based OHS / WHS legislation, relevant codes of practice, and all relevant standards and industry guidelines;
  • Eliminating hazards and reducing OHS / WHS risks through proactive planning, project-specific risk-assessments, site inspections, and the implementation of safe systems of work;
  • Consultation and participation of workers and, where applicable, their representatives on matters affecting their health and safety; and
  • Continual improvement of our OHS / WHS Management System to ensure its effectiveness, suitability, and alignment with our strategic direction.

Our Policy aims to

  • Set measurable OHS / WHS objectives and targets for benchmarking IA’s performance;
  • Achieve and maintain an accident and injury free workplace wherever possible;
  • Integrate health and safety and environmental/climate change considerations into all business planning and operations — including design, procurement, site management, security & risk services, and client engagement;
  • Provide appropriate training, inductions, and ongoing competency assessments to ensure all personnel — employees, contractors, and subconsultants — are skilled, informed, and confident in their roles;
  • Establish and monitor systems for identifying, assessing and controlling hazards, ensuring continual improvement of OHS / WHS outcomes;
  • Investigate all incidents, accidents and near-misses to prevent recurrence
  • Periodically review OHS objectives and performance for improvement; and
  • Foster a safety culture that encourages participation, accountability and continuous learning.
This policy shall be maintained as documented information, communicated within the organisation and will be available to all interested parties. This Policy is reviewed periodically to remain relevant and consistent with IA’s strategic direction.
